intuitive doula support & documentary photography

babies, bodies & becoming

There's no one right way to give birth, grieve, transition, or change. I hold space for your emotions, empower your transformation, and witness your becoming. Whatever that may be!

  • Doulas are trained support professionals that prepare you for and guide you through major life transitions. Typically working with families on their perinatal journeys, doulas help you access the tools you need to make confident, informed decisions.

But really, the main thing a doula does is to just be there for whatever you need. Day or night! They remind you that you’re still your own person and you deserve to be cared for, especially when you’re crossing huge thresholds and becoming someone new.

  • I think of myself as more of a documentarian than a photographer because I’m more focused on history than anything else. My work is about noticing what’s here, knowing it won’t exist again, and believing it’s worth remembering exactly as it is. I try to leave my expectations at the door and I don’t care so much about perfection as I do “true” impressions of a fleeting moment.

  • I care for all kinds of people through all kinds of transitions. While most of my clients are looking for support with pregnancy, birth & postpartum, I also support people through other transitions like new diagnoses, immigration processes, gender, sex & identity changes, loss, and more.

If you’re moving through change and want to be cared for by someone who honours your strength & tenderness, we may be a good fit.

hey! i’m Becca

My pronouns are they/them.

I got into photography super young, so looking through a lens is just part of who I am and how I understand what I see. It’s taught me to notice more than what’s in front of me, but to look underneath and to hold everything gently. To see the beauty, the bravery, the liminal threads that connect us all.

As a doula, I carry that same way of seeing. I’m all about emotion, energy, intuition, scientific evidence, and a heavy dose of grace. I think it’s the absolute highest honour to be welcomed into people’s worlds and trusted to nourish their most tender selves.

  • "What a treat it was to let [baby] do his thing and have the full sensory food experience and not be on cleanup duty!"

    —Laura N

  • "My husband just downloaded the photos to his phone. A few times I heard him say, "oh man, these are soooo goooood!"
